The Colleges of Law, a nonprofit law school, prepares students to practice law through programs that deftly combine quality, convenience, affordability, and real-world practicality.

QUALITY

Our faculty members are accomplished judges and attorneys in the local communities. Our Hybrid J.D. students benefit from the breadth of our faculty’s professional experiences.

CONVENIENCE

The Hybrid J.D. program combines online learning with intensive residencies, making a legal degree accessible to those with who desire to make a difference but have commitments that prevent them from attending classes on campus.

AFFORDABILITY

Our Hybrid J.D. program costs, on average, less than the price of J.D. programs typically offered at traditional law schools.

PRACTICALITY

Our students graduate as practice-ready attorneys poised to make an immediate contribution in their new professional setting.

Program Overview

Students attend a single 12-hour intensive residency each month in Pasadena centered on active learning opportunities where they will put theory into practice. Every third month of the semester, students will use the residency to focus on one of four lawyering skills: practical, litigation, transactional, professional development and leadership.

Students who complete our Hybrid J.D. program are academically eligible to sit for California’s General Bar Exam. Our required curriculum covers every bar-tested subject and includes Bar Studies, a course designed to help students meet the exam’s intellectual and time-management challenges. We also offer presentations, panel discussions, and workshops on Bar Exam preparation.

Testimonials

If I were to do everything again, I would do it exactly the same way that I did. I am very satisfied and happy with my entire professional career. I have a lot of admiration for my former professors, who are now colleagues.
